Today

My daughter had a toncilectomy today. She did well getting the IV in, she has panicked every other time a needle has been put in for blood draw or IV. My anxiety level was very high and she was very emotional and panicky when she came out of sedation. It was so hard to calmer her down with my stress level, even though it was after the successful surgery and my anxiety should have gone down.

I did not SH but it was hard not to. The urge was strongest after we got home and I started to relax.

I am so happy to know that it was successful! I can understand why she was panicking and why it was hard for you to stay calm when your anxiety was high! I know how hard it is to fight the urge to self harm! I am very proud of you for not self harming!

I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't rich, or are young or old! They're still princesses. All of us. Didn't anyone tell you that? Didn't anyone? I am telling you that!

Hi Tools, I too am very glad you didn't SH!! I know how stressful it can be and I know it's a tough urge to resist, so you've done great!!

How is your daughter? One of my daughters had to have her tonsils and adnoids out!! While it's always hard to see your child in pain, I was so glad we did it because she went from being sick all the time, to just a couple times a year!!! YAY!!!!!!

Sending big hugs, Suzee

My daughter is doing ok. I postponed my appt for today so I could spend today with her since we were up a lot last night. I am doing better dealing with this than when she had a kidney stone.

I am so glad Tools!!! Please know I am here and will keep checking in this weekend!! It is always hard to see our children struggle or be in pain, that's for sure!!!! I have daughter with a disease that causes horrendous headaches that nothing but being put under will help. It's definately something I've had to get used to so that I can be of assistance to her until paramedics etc.. arrive. I never fall apart until AFTER she's in the hands of her doctors. I think it's just the way us Mom's are set up in that we can hardly bare them to be sick or in pain!!!

Big understanding hugs, Suzee :0)
