How much Valium is too much?

Posted in Group:

I have a prescription for 5mg Diazepam and my doctor directed me to take one as necessary. I know that I can't just take and take and take them but I also don't know where a safe ground is.I am having a fairly hard time recently and I feel myself needing to take more and more. How many is safe?

You have to be very careful, call a nurse for advice and describe your situation, they will be able to explain to you according to your chart. Wishing you well. God bless you.

Thank you for the response, I did seek out advice from a medical practitioner and they have advised me that I am able to take them every 4 hours.

are you on other anti-anxiety meds and waiting for them to kick in so that you can abandon the valium? They work good as a temporary bridge during the tough times.
I have been taking activan prn for anxiety until my meds start to work in 4-6 weeks.
Do youwork? go to school? Kids?

It is my understanding that people who don't have anxiety get a different effect from the meds..It makes them feel "drink and high". those of us with anxiety, i makes us think cleary and relax and perform daily task, like normal people do, I am actually able to problem solve and perform executive functionaing task when taking the activan. Hopefully my real medication will kick in soon. Keep me posted.

I am waiting for my Lexapro 20mg to kick in properly, I am worried though because I dont have all that many left and I am currently visiting my boyfriend in america so I dont have the same access to my doctors and prescriptions as I would back home in australia. I am three days into my meds and I havnt had a full blown panic attack since I started them. I just hope that I can keep it up and be strong because I am terrified of having more attacks.
